WE started with a simple idea:
Help new friends capture & share memories at special events.
SnapSeat started in 2010 as this original idea: that we would provide guests the ability to create instant photos & memories with family and friends at special events.
SnapSeat's Founder, Jonathan Johnson, had early inspirations from a our lifetime passion for photography, experience in darkroom and photographic printing, and a love for vintage Polaroid cameras, where the instant image was being preserved in a print-less digital work.
We ventured out and launched a small concept called "Photos At Events." We featured such "high-tech" gear as a tripod, digital SLR camera, two small umbrella lights, two small inkjet printers, and a backdrop. Humble beginnings.
Early success was highlighted by being featured at the nation's largest Christian music festival, Creation Fest, in 2010.
Basically, we invented photo booths (at least we think so!). And the industry would become mainstream in the upcoming years.
In 2013, our idea was rebranded & relaunched as SnapSeat, with help of co-founder Dustin Schultz. His creative vision and Jonathan's photography and business management experience allowed us to offer clients unique photo booth experiences with personalized style.
Starting in the Hartford and central CT area with one photo booth, and with a lot of hardwork, determination, and with a commitment to operational excellence, we quickly grew. In the past three years we now have five photo booths, five employees, and serve in our surrounding areas - operating in New York City, Boston, and Newport, RI.
